A natural pool is the ideal solution for people who want to swim in water untreated by chemicals but who do not want to do without the advantages of a traditional swimming pool.

The combination of elegant pool design and BioNova technology means that you have the greatest possible freedom to shape your creations.

Open to change and modern - The water is drawn off at the surface of the pool and flows via gravity and a pump system into the separate regeneration pond. From here, the filtered water is pumped back into the swimming area. This means that the water never has to be drained or replaced, whatever the season. The advantage of this construction lies in the clear separation of the swimming and purification areas, with it even being possible to create some of the areas underground. When it comes to planning, there are no limits to the possible designs: from geometrical pools or conventional basins right through to rocky mountain pools. BioNova’s partner companies have built countless natural swimming installations since the first natural pool was presented in 2003. From mini-pools through to expansive hotel bathing landscapes, they have created a huge variety of individually planned pools.

Naturally, it is also possible to install features such as counter-current systems, heating and automatic slatted pool covers. The automatic slatted pool cover has a number of advantages. For example, it can retain heat in the pool and protect it against falling leaves and other natural influences.

How small can a natural pool be?

Our experience shows that you should plan an area of at least 2 x 2 metres for your mini-swimming pond. This is because the main purpose of a small swimming pond is not necessarily swimming but to provide cool and relaxation. Seating that allows users to recline in comfort is recommended. Thanks to the BioNova® construction method, a wide range of possible looks are available for your mini-swimming pond. You can extend your pool with a waterfall or create an eye-catching stone well. What is more: If you want a more athletic experience, you can easily install a counter-current system. And it is also possible to heat the water in the mini-pool. We would be happy to advise you on the various possible designs.

Notes on maintenance

In order to get maximum enjoyment from your swimming pond or natural pool, it needs to be cleaned at regular intervals. This ensures that you can continue to enjoy the water untroubled. This does not demand any particular specialist knowledge on your part because the proven BioNova system is easy to maintain.
And the good news is that most of the work is done by nature itself.

The water in the natural pool is cleaned organically. Because algae are part of the natural ecosystem, they are also present in a natural pool. They are crucial to ensuring the oxygen supply. Nature and forward-looking planning combine to prevent excessive algal growth.

A robotic vacuum cleaner can also be used without difficulty in the swimming area and will operate reliably.
